GOLDMUND - Swiss Made High-End Audio Equipment

The most important scientific development made by Goldmund during the last few years has probably been the Proteus Software (Read Proteus doc).

The result of that development is that the missing link in a top system, meaning the Room Acoustics itself, is now addressed in the most professional way by Goldmund.

The first application is clearly the Goldmund Media Room, which simply became possible thanks to the Proteus development. The spectacular results obtained in a Media Room proved that it was not a small step in the system’s global result.

But even more interesting, there is no fundamental reason why the best Audiophile systems installed around the world by Goldmund could not benefit of it as well. Making the system correct the room acoustics where it is installed is precisely the same process we apply for the Media Room and it involves the same technology.

With the introduction of the new coming Mimesis 16, it will now become possible to have your room acoustic corrected by the Goldmund electronics. And since Proteus has been designed to take into consideration any type of room size, shape and décor, the time where Proteus will be able to completely optimize your living room system is not far.

In addition Goldmund will introduce soon a small analogue processor (initially called ironically the Goldmund Wonderbox), which should make the same correction available even for the purest analogue audiophiles without any digital device.

As you probably already figured out if you owned one and are a careful Goldmund news reader, the small Metis 10 preamplifier is nothing else than a simplified Goldmund Mimesis 16. It means that its multi-channel capabilities are similar, but hidden to make its use and installation simpler.
And, by the same talking, it is also obvious that the room corrections (see above) have no reason not to exist even for a small Metis system owner in a near future.

The only missing link was a simple computer program to configurate the Metis 10 with the parameters generated by Proteus. A simple version of this is now becoming available to the best Metis dealers.

The most fascinating in this, is there is no fundamental difference anymore in the acoustic correction capabilities from the top elaborate Media Room systems costing Millions and the small Metis system installed in a your apartment. The beauty of scientific scaling…
